I read about this and saw the pictures yesterday, and my first thought was I just hope he's okay. The way he lost weight, and the amount in such a short period of time, is extremely dangerous and unhealthy.

Talk about being committed as an actor. He's going to be playing a cancer patient in a football movie, and well, he's going to look like one.

Holy crap.....wow. Is that you 50???? lol

Daaamn.....he looks like he just aged 30 years. Indeed he does look like a caner patient.

It would really suck if this movie flops lol
Maybe he should just stick to music?

Celebrities gain and lose weight all the time for roles in films. Tom Hanks for one in Cast Away comes to mind. As long as you do it the correct way no harm is done.

Right, I'm wondering what kind of liquid diet and what type of exercise.

I'm willing to bet it was sugar water and strictly cardio. That's a great way to burn through all your muscle mass. Back in the day I went from 195-200 down to 142 and lost a sh1tload of muscle mass through cardio and a low protein/high carb diet.

What I read was that it was about 3 hours a day walking on a treadmill and a liquid diet based largely on freeze pops.

I said it was unhealthy based on hearing that it was 53 lbs in 9 weeks. Generally speaking a couple pounds per week is the most you want to lose, his numbers put him around 6 lbs per week. On top of that, this is someone who had very little fat to lose. He was a musclebound weightlifter. So not only was he losing weight far too quickly, but it had to be mostly muscle mass.

The terms "healthy" and "unhealthy" are subjective though. However, I feel that when you drop weight and you lose muscle mass it's "unhealthy". Who knows what other side effects he may have been having as well. Just keep in mind that he may have lost 20 pounds of water weight and the rest coming from fat and muscle mass(of course he had fairly low body fat so most would have been muscle mass). But for sheer weight it's a pretty large drop. The most I've dropped in a 2 month span was 40 pounds a COUPLE of times BUT I was weight training and eating protein 2 out of the 3 times I did that and lost little to no LBM, at least that I could notice.

I lost 20lbs back in November in a two week period. Went from 150 to 130. Is that unhealthy?

Lol.

Yes, there are pills that help you lose weight. They call them diuretics, Taraxatone is a popular brand. Take them for a few days and the weight just purges. Too bad you're still just as fat as you were and probably look worse from "empty" muscles.

You could take something that raises your heart rate which will cause you to lose mass though and without any effort.
