Better yet, funded by the Government? Well, I can answer that for you. Never! But, the Government sure is interested in getting some bills passed that will do just that for certain select minority groups such as homosexualsss while putting Christians in prison. $10 Million dollars in funding will be allocated annually for the administration of hate crime prevention including special programs about this in our schools. IF...the most recent David Ray Ritcheson Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 (H.R. 262) coupled with the David Ray Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 (H.R. 256) are passed! So, besides the double-standard, why should you be fuming and taking action before you even finish reading this? Because these two bills that are going to be sent to President Barack Obama's desk will silence Christians from speaking against homosexualityyyy or teaching our children that it is wrong. You would quite literally be committing a Federal crime and convicted. If these bills get passed, not only will Christians be silenced -- but, the government is scheduled to swoop in with $10 Million dollars to drive a stake right into the heart of Christians by making sure your children hear and are taught everything against Judeo-Christian beliefs. The two bills that I am talking about are the David Ray Ritcheson Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 (H.R. 262) coupled with the David Ray Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 (H.R. 256). These two bills were just introduced by Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee and are expected to be signed by President Barack Obama who has supported this legislation at the state level in the past. These two bills CANNOT get to President Obama's desk! No way Christians! You must act now if you want to continue practicing your Christian faith and teaching it to your children. Sign the petition against Hate Crimes Legislation! The Liberal Bailout Right now, there are some states that have adopted Hate Crime Laws. And, in those states, many Christians have been convicted and imprisoned. To top it off, Hate Crime Prevention programs won't be run by the government. Instead, the government will be looking for a private non-profit organization with broad experience in Hate Crimes education, prevention, and statistics gathering to be the watchment of this bill. It is quite possible that this "$10 Million dollar giveaway" will go to liberal, anti-Christian groups like the Jewish Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith (ADL). The ADL describes itself as "the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice, and bigotryyyy." But that's not all they do. The ADL is also one of the most anti-Christian proponents in the public square today. Allied with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which has done more harm to Christian liberties in America than any other group, I shutter to think what will happen to our children, our families, our churches, and our freedom of speech at the hands of these two groups and their well-funded regime. On the state level, the ADL website brags that they have caused 45 states to enact different versions of this bill since 1990. Most recently, in 2008, Gov. Schwarzenegger of California, passed lesbiannn activist Sheila Kuhl's anti-Christian bill S.B.777. It makes it illegal to criticize homosexuality in California public schools. Hate crime bills are in complete opposition to the U.S. Constitution. The 14th Amendment forbids special rights, privileges, or services to preferred groups, but S.B. 262 defies this by giving special Federal assistance to alleged victims of hate crimes. Hate Crime Watch Update The United Kingdom and Canada gives us plenty of evidence as to why Hate Crimes Law is a bad idea. The number of Christians imprisioned for their faith continues to grow as does the Hate Crime Case Law against Christians. Most recently in the United Kingdom, the Christian Institute issues a report on some of the hate crime cases that have developed there under similar legislation. One of the most stunning examples of how Hate Crimes Law silences Christians is of Lynette Burrows. "Lynette Burrows, an author and family-vaues campaigner, took part in a radio talk show about civil partnerships for homosexualssss. Mrs. Burrows said she did not believe that adoption by two gayyyy men would be best for a child. Subsequently, a policewoman telephoned Mrs. Burrows to speak to her about her comments," the report said. "The police officer said a 'homophobiccc incident' had been reported against her and that record of it would be kept by police." Do you think Lynette Burrows will think twice about sharing her Christian beliefs as based from God's Holy Word now that she has a criminal profile card recorded with the police? The UK law has a section recognizing that "the discussion or criticism of sexualll conduct or practices or the urging of persons to refrain from or modify such conduct or practices shall not be taken in and of itself to be threatening or intended to stir up hatred." Yet, in this case, honest criticism based on a person's faith and upon the facts becomes a "homophobiccc incident." This has a very chilling effect on free speech. It proves what CADC has been alleging all along. Hate crimes are directed against Christians so that their values and views will not be tolerated. TAKE ACTION Help protect Christian liberty in the U.S. by signing our petition in opposition to hate crimes. We must stop it in Congress. If the bill is passed, President Obama will sign it into Federal law. This petition will be sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee on 1/31/09.
