I thought I would make a thread to people who like to take pictures. I'm a beginner but I think some of the photo's that I recently just have taken look freaken awesome. I'm getting the hang of it more. I got decent at close up shots but I still have a lot to learn with distant shots and so fourth. Heres a picture that I took tonight with my Canon S5 IS.

So lets see what you guys got. Like I said, I have a long way to go but I think it looks nice.

Also, since the website only lets us upload 600x600, maybe provide a link to the picture on a bigger scale. Such as this.

For some reason I don't find any of these to be interesting at all =/ I guess it's because I've seen some really good stuff.

I hear ya berny. I can appreciate a fine detail pic of something, anything really. It shows clarity and dimension. It could be a sunset or a ball in a child's hand. If it moves you it's worth looking at.

Meanwhile I can't figure out my Nikon on taking closeup stills lol.

I have one of an Alpine HU I sold. Not great but W/E.

This pic by Kevin could be entered in (and could win) a photo contest if she was brightened up a bit -- which I did by running some digital enhancements on it. Note how by placing her opposite the subject (the sky), that the leading lines of the picture (her eyes and arm) leads you IN to the subject and not out of the frame. Also, he used the "rule of thirds" by placing the landscape in the bottom third of the picture and not in the middle which would chop the composition in half. Very nice composition, and she is adorable.

Nice work Brad but I do like the clouds a bit better in the original because they have a darker look/feeling.

saw the Foo Fighters last weekend in Cleveland. according to my dad who has seen Roger Waters, Rush, U2 and many more, it was the best show he has ever seen. also finally got to see the man him self, Dave Grohl, who i believe is one of the best musicians to date.

C0ck puncher either your camera sucks or the lighting sucks or your camera skills suck =/. Cool pictures though.

I was just thinking that those are some of the best concert photos I have seen in awhile from an amateur. Concerts are very tricky to photograph -- especially since they won't allow pro cameras in --because of the quickly changing lighting conditions. If that was a cell phone I am amazed. I would upload some of my pics but they are on slides and I don't have my slide scanner here. And plus since I was a pro it just wouldn't be fair

Gotta love Dave's Trini Lopez Custom 335 Gibson. They just released a replica version that goes for $2500.
