Cable splitter

i Got one of those splitters with 2 @ -7dbs & 1 with -3... Which one of those should i hook my modem connection into?

This is what i get in the -3:

I was getting these alot in the -7:

I'm not understanding what you bought.

People don't use cable "splitters" for Ethernet cabling. They use switches and hubs.

You're going to hook up a dial-up modem to that????

I don't think so.

And you certainly can't hook up a DSL modem to that either.


Not sure where you are going with this....}

its what my isp put in "professionally" It worked fine for 5 years

You must get your internet over cable then.

The RF cable from Comcast or whoever is your cable company goes to your cable modem box that they would give you.

Your computer still connects via Ethernet cable.

Don't you also have a cable box for the TV?

That should probably be connected to the -3dB port.

You don't really have much choice unless you buy one of your own.

Yeah, sorry for confusion, i dont know the terms...

My cable goes like this. From the wall, to that RF Splitter thing i posted a pic about above.. the -3db has a cable running from that to my cable modem, one of the -7db is going to my Cable tv box & the other is going to another cable tv box in a diffrent room.

If it's worked in the post, I'd be contacting your cable company.

I thought you'd just putting this together.
