Posted on Thursday, June 05, 2008 - 22:19 GMT just purchased an unopenned windows xp reinstallation disc and noticed it it is written for new Dell pc's only. I own an amd athlon and am currently running xp, will this disc still be usable for me to reload xp? or was it just a waste of 10 bucks?....thx |

Posted on Monday, August 04, 2008 - 06:30 GMT should work fine. the label means it was packaged for Dell to include with a new PC purchase, and wasn't meant for re-sale on the open market. It's probably just a gray market CD. |

Posted on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 - 05:30 GMT Yes, I have one of the same disks that you're talking about. It will work fine in any PC, although you will only be able to authenticate one with the disk, using a new cd key that is. |
