So my current wireless router took a poo and I don't know what to get. My current one is a Netgear WGR614 and it's about 2 years old. What is a good bang for your buck router? Will upgrading my modem help speed at all, since I have DSL and some cheap modem my ISP gave us.

If it makes any difference I have a netgear 54mbps wireless card in my PC along with my Wii (which is wireless), but my other pc and xbox will be hardwired.

Thanks for any help.

netgear is a good brand for a replacement. i have a wndr3300 that works flawlessly.

i used to have a linksys wrt54g and when that took a sh1t I upgraded to the new linksys series (at first) and it was horrible with dropping packets, fuck1ing up the dhcp and dropping the net connection to the modem. thats when i took it back, spent the extra money and got the netgear. I dont have n wireless yet either, only g but I like to have it available if i do.

thats the POS linksys i had. i DO NOT recommend any of their new sh1t that looks like that. i have a friend who had trouble with it too.

i'd go with the netgear i have. dlinks are okay. belkins are okay too. but netgear is what i'd stick with.
