Posted on Sunday, March 16, 2008 - 21:45 GMT When i start the computer the screen shows tha amount of ram in it and says that it is ok.....then it goes to a black screen and says Non-System disk or disk error, replace and strike and key when ready. Have Windows ME disk but doesnt read it. Sounds like it want to boot from floppy but i cant get into bios to change boot process(its like there is no bios on it). Can someone please help |

Posted on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 - 00:39 GMT Go to google, search "compaq drivers", go to HP's site, put in your model, download "Computer Setup for Portables" under "Software - System Management" and run it to put the files on a bootable floppy. I had to run the setup .exe from a flash drive because it wouldn't run on my C drive. This gets you into "BIOS" of sorts. |

I believe that's due to RAWRITE.EXE needing FAT?
I have a 1571DM also. I'd like to hear how your things turn out. |
