I have an Abit IN9 32X-MAX Wi-Fi Motherboard and it has Optical In and Optical Out connectors on the I/O panel. I also have a Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card. At the moment, I only have the drivers for the Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card installed. But I want to be able to use the Optical connectors on the motherboard as well. Will I be able to have the Onboard Sound drivers for my motherboard installed at the same time with my Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card drivers? How can I get the optical connectors on my motherboard working?

there would be normally a clash of IRQ's (interrupt requests) and this would show either with a splat in your device manager or in the system information screen ...if you are good with changing IRQ's manually from the device manager then you are good to try the steps that you mentioned...hope this helps...if not then trouble me...take care
