The European Mobile Location Market Scale Will Reach $0.61 Billion in 2015

According to the latest report of Swedish market researching firm-- Berg Insight, the revenue of European mobile location service market in 2015 will reach 420 million pounds (about 610 million U.S. dollars), while in 2009 it's 220 million pounds (about 320 million U.S. dollars ). The growth rate during this period will reach 12%.

According to the number of users, the local searching, navigation service and social networking will get the largest application. Berg Insight expects that by 2015 one-third of the European mobile phone users will often use the location applications. It is also expected that in the next few years the social networking will experience the highest growth rate.

Andre Malm, the senior analyst at Berg Insight said, "location-based service will eventually become popular. The sales growing of smartphones is driving the terminal users to support the mobile Internet services and applications. Based on the application shops, the majority of mobile phone users can enjoy and experience the colorful mobile services. In order to improve the using experience, more and more developers are adding location to the application procedure. "He also said that the installation of GPS to mobile phones is important. In Europe, the number of GPS mobile phones has exceeded 15% of the total amount, and it will increase to 50% after three years."

Berg Insight also pointed out that the revenue model of many mobile application procedures is transforming from the fees to advertisement support.
