Glad to see it is still going, maybe a clean slate will be helpful. Set up one of my primestar dishes, (I couldn't help myself), and was able to pull in China TV, an African American Evangelical channel and racing, all on one sat. ROTFL. With the leaves out, all I can see is almost straight up. I can get 119 pretty well, Gol is great if you like Futbol, but that is about all. I am looking forward to fall and no leaves. Til then I will just have to wait. |

A fix is not the problem anymore , how to make the max. amount of revenue out of this , and how to apply it seems the problem. They according to my sources , are seizing this oppertunity to have some kind of electronic attachement applied to the newer ,( and I repeat newer machines only ),( so away with with all the old ones , like the ultras the viewsat 2000 , c..lsat 4000 and so on and most of all , all the clones) that will be able to read and understand the new fix ,or of course a new receiver that promisses to be the ultimate , on the market shortly or already that will have all the new features installed and ready to be programmed with ths new fix. This is a money game , and the longer this drags on the more revenue there is to be made , however we think it has almost reached the breaking point. So all this Mr. Viewsat said this and Mrs. C..lsat that they are all people in some little dingy factories in the orient , trying to make the most out of a very gullible situation. |

I hope the outlook is good. Yes, I've heard the rumours too about new machines and new technology. I hope it's not the IKS that the Neosats are using as it just doesn't seem to safe to me. I heard the Cools@ rumours that they came up with the card reader solution to get rid of existing card reader stock before the launch of their new system, as the newer systems will have no use for them. For now though, these are all just rumours so I guess we'll just have to continue to sit and wait. At least it's the summer time, and not winter. Can you imagine how crazy these boards would have been in the winter time had this happened. People would have been jumping from buildings! LOL. |

I literally sit in a bowl, the trees are forty to sixty feet tall and keep the house very cool during the summer. It is a cabin in the mountains in East Tennessee. I can't complain (much). It is a beautiful area, just need to find an open spot to move to. |

If that doesn't work, then chances are they won't be working on a bin just for the locals. You'll need to continue to enter the keys. |

I hope it's not too confusing. I know how I want to describe it, just not sure if I've done it well enough. Anyway, here goes: Bins are programmed to read the keys a specific way through the data stream. So to simplify it, lets say that the keys come down in order. So key one is sent, then key two, then three, and so on. The bin get those keys, puts them in order as it's been programmed to and you're good. But if the stream changes, and instead of 1,2,3,4 etc. the keys start to come down 3,2,4,1,etc.etc. The bin isn't programmed to read them that way and then you get waiting for picture. The coders then work on a new bin that follows the order, and you're back in business. I hope that's close. If it's not, I'd like to get the experts opinion as I've wondered myself. |

As no new bins are being created right now, they would only have to do it once to render the bin useless. As for the rapid key change, again just a guess, but I don't think that they can ECM the locals like they do the other channels. Perhaps because they are spot beamed? So they have to leave them open. The best defense against that would be to change the keys often. It won't stop you from getting them, but make it enough of a headache to make some people not bother, or at the very least cause an inconvenience. Just my 2 cents. |

This is not a key issue, so updating keys, reflashing a bin or rescanning is not the fix, but will get U Dishnet locals. The channels will remain black until a fix is written into the software. No cardless receivers have a fix for this issue except co*olsat with card reader and few other receivers using card sharing.
