1 12" at 400rms or 2 10" 200rms

i am going to be putting the sub or subs in a ported box between 30 and 40 hz i have a kx400.1 amp at 2 ohms its 400rms im looking at 2 10 cvrs in a ported box or any decent 12" around 100-150$ same price as 2 10" cvrs just wonderin if 1 12 might be better i want good spl with decent sql hatch back station wagon any suggestions or should i get the 2 10" cvrs maybe even a good single 10" what do u guys think

2 10's are more efficient that 1 12 in that matter. IMO you would get more power from 2 10's, which means less strain on each driver vs. a lot of strain on just 1 driver.

anon, i dont really agree on tbs reasoning, yet i do agree, but that also might be becasue i prefer 10s over 12s, but a 12 will give better low end response, but the 10s will most likely get louder

Guaranteed, 12's will get lower...they have larger cones lol. That's why I love Sony' 6x9's FR rating...30 Hz? Bull. At least the Volfenhag brand doesn't lie. It says 60 Hz on the door speakers, and that's in reality all the lower any door speaker will go.
