Ok so I am looking at getting new speakers that I can use for my computer/stereo/dvd player/etc.

I want to get Logitech, but which should I get?
Z-5450 or Z-5500?

Which one can you afford? Are you restricted to those choices?

I wouldnt say that I'm restricted. I am trying to give my parents ideas for a gift for my upcoming birthday and I would really like a set of good speakers that I can use for just about everything in my room. That means computer, stereo, dvd player, xbox. Ideally, I want a set of speakers that I can hook all of these devices up to all at once and be able to switch back and forth as I please, like changing the input on a tv. Any suggestions?

Do you have any opinion on which is better? Pros/cons of each?

One is wireless the other is not.

One needs extra batteries, thus an added expense. Prone to interference.

Soundwise, the wired unit sounds better but nothing to write home about.
