Trying to view camcorder video through my Sony Vaio

I want to know what I need to video a golfer through the camcorder and watch it on my laptop. I need to save it but only temporarily to review it. My boss uses his video camera, VCR, and small TV. This seems like alot of equipment and is very bulky.
