I've got an old camera, updated the software so at least it works without getting the "need macromedia" error. Problem is that this software (Picture Package) lets me transfer what I want from the camera to the computer via USB, but the only option is some custom movie maker, where it chops it up like a slideshow and adds music. I just want it as it is on the tape, and it's driving me nuts. It's gotta be there somewhere. I can test the USB stream to adjust sound and lighting, so I'm seeing the video I want playing on the computer during this, but can't save it. Help??

If you want to use USB, you are limited to using Sony's software.

You should use Firewire aka IEEE1394 aka i.Link and use Windows Movie Maker software which comes included with Windows
