Hello. I was wondering if anyone could reccomend the best component cables to hook up a non-HD tv to Direct TV. The television has a great picture with 'standard' component cables so my question is two-fold:

Will better quality cables give a better picture and if so, what manufacturer should I consider? I would also be connecting a DVD player and as a guide, would be willing to pay anything upto 75 bucks for each cable.

Thanks in advance.

you can pay a fortune for so called monster cables but believe me whether you pay £10 or £100 the lead will not make a difference.

Tony, thanks for your reply. After much research I discovered what you're saying is indeed correct. Having messed around with the various set up options I'm convinced I get a better picture with composite cables than I do with the supposedly 'better' option of S Video cable. Not sure why that is, maybe it's just the way Sony tv's are configured, but I do now realise an expensive composite cable will make no difference.

Again, thatnks for your input.
