Cables and Speaker Wire

Anonymous

I have read much discussion regarding video and audio cables. Are there significant performance differences between cables from Audioquest, Monster, AR or Dayton? Can I go wrong with cables from either of them?

Can you make a suggestion for good speaker wire?

There seem to be so many choices in cable and wire with many price levels.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

You can get good speaker wire at Radio Shack, and Home Depot. You don't have to waste money on "name brands". Also, don't worry about buying the thickest wire you can find. If you are running normal lengths of wire, 16 gauge will work fine, and you will save a little $$$. good Luck.

There is a huge difference between speaker cable. That's why some is less than a dollar a foot while other are hundreds of dollars a foot. If you have a mid hifi set up, monster or my preferance entry level Audioquest like Type 2 will do you fine. If you have a a high end set system, you should study speaker cable as different cable has different listening traits.
