Getting such awful reviews, I'm putting viewing on hold until it hits the 5$ bins. Which shouldn't take long.

I agree. Like I've said 1743 times before Hollywood just keeps looking back to look forward. C'mon peeps. Start those creative minds they pay you for. Stop the remakes.

I may not even be interested in the $5 DVD to be honest.

Risk of remaking an already successful movie is far less than making an original screenplay. That's why I'm always so critical of scifi. I read a LOT of it and most of what makes it to the screen is only so-so and than heavy on monsters and gore.

The remake thing? Well, that leads to endlessly repetitive franchise stuff with maybe a half dozen scripts being endlessly recycled. Avatar, for example, was beautiful to look at but not very 'original' in the writing department. But, boy, did they ever sell tickets. James Bond franchise stuff is.......comfortable.....and predictible.

Wanna get together and do an orignal screenplay? I've got a couple jam-up ideas.
