i was trying out a new amp for my subs and at low volume they sounded good then when i turned it up, after about 30 sec the subs just stopped working completely. i looked at the amp and the protect light was not on so what caused this? btw i found out later they were running at the wrong ohms. they run at 2 when bridged but the amp runs at 4.(the guy told me wrong specs about the amp)

chances are if the amp is not tunrning on at all no power and now no protect light, the amp is most likely gone

Both amps work fine, its just that now my subs dont hit as hard before they suddenly stopped firing.

You MUST make the amp's impedance match the sub's, or have you done it allready?
