Replacing Stock Speakers

I have a 2001 Ford Escort. I believe it has 5.25 in the front doors and 6x8's in the rear. Surprisingly they do pretty well. I'm the second owner...I'm just assuming they are stock, haven't removed an panels or anything.

My questions are:

1). As I'm upgrading my system to add subs and a head unit, would you only suggest that I Upgrade the front with a Component Set and not do anything with the rear?

2). What is a good fairly inexpensive component set $150-$200. Does that combinantion exist?

3.) Could these be powered off my Alpine 9305 or would I need and amp for those?

4.)Lastly I'm going to be rerunnig 4 gague power and some quality RCA's tomorrow (today, later in the day), If I'm considering having 2 amps, should I get a distribution block that's 2gauge input and still use the 4gague wire on the input and on 1 of the outputs to the sub amp. then later on I can use like 8 gague on one of the other outputs for the 2nd amp? Or is there a better solution? Oh yeah, this i still the stock Alternator. My 1 amp right now for my subs has a 60 amp draw.

I won't have this car for more than a year. Is this too much trouble, should I wait until I get my new car?

Thanks

1.) Just the fronts, 6x8's have uneven stress points, suffer from cone flex, surround trouble, increased distortion, strange resonances due to cone shape. 6x8's are a poor SQ speaker altogether, as is any oval speaker
2.) Infinity Kappas or Kappa Perfects
3.) You need a good amplifier to push these components with.
4.) 4 guage should be enough to power both amplifiers. You'll need a distribution block to separate the power wires, though.
As far as your car, Escorts have low current stock alternators, and you'll probably have trouble with a good bit of current draw. Doing the install is up to you, if you feel it's worth it, then by all means do it. You may be better off to save more money for even better quality equipment later on, as the speakers you buy for an Escort may not work in your next vehicle. Also, 6.5" components are better than 5.25", so if you save for those for your next ride you'll be better off.
