hi everyone, I Need help choosing a better amp for my alpine type R. I have the model one before the newest ones. It's 500 watts RMS and 1500 peak. I currently have it hooked up to a performance Teknique 1200 watts. I'm going to buy a new amp but I need advice on which one to buy? My budget is $250 and ofcourse the amp will be used (from local craiglist) I've seen Alpine AMP mrp-m500,jl 500.1 and some hifonics. I really don want to go TOO high in watts because I don't want to blow the sub. I will really appreciate if you guys help me get the best DEEPEST bass out of this subwoofer.
Thank you all

For deep bass you can also look at rockford fosgate monoblocks, but those two you mention will also get you good results.

Alpine SWR-1222D is dual 2 ohm coils.

Alpine SWR-1242D is dual 4 ohm coils.

Both are 500W RMS

If you want a 500W RMS at 2 ohm amp with strong bass check this:

Rockford Fosgate PRIME R500-1
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17368_Rockford-Fosgate-PRIME-R500-1.html

Just wire your subwoofer coils in parallel and you are done.

I guess that performance Teknique wasn't that bad after all

I don't recommend fixing that yourself, many times the glue ends up in the wrong place.
