Kyle: I do not have an amp, yes, I will be running them off of the HU. I have basically run out of $ for now and I think the HU will power them enough.

SKD: Thank you first of all, and I was going to use them, but I found a good deal. LOL

deathoob: Yes, you did. LOL

steve: Thank you and I will update as much as possibe without overdoing it.

Sean P: Thank you, I love it. The box, I forgot. I know you guys aren't going to like this, but I bought one from a local shop. Got a great deal. It is sealed, which I prefer, and it is top quality. I did some measuring and calculating and this box is great for the subs. Like I said before, I am out of $ and would love to have built my own or had bassman build me one, but I don't think I could do it now. Thanks for asking. Here is a pic of the box:

what kinda power does the ed9.1 put out and do you have an aftermarket battery/alt with big 3 done?

i think the ed 9.1 puts out ~1200 watts. (i reserve the right to be wrong.)

hey eric did you deaden your floor? i started that to day.

prefab sealed boxes are usaly fine, if you go ported thats when you need to never buy prefab, just make sure the box specs match up to your subs.

is the liquid deadener any good? or is it just personal preference? or is it good to use both, certain ones in certain spots?

the liquid is for hard to mold deadner areas tight spaces saves time going on but you haft to let it dry. i believe it can go on thinner then other dampeners bla bla bla.

I believe that it is better than some deadeners. If you put on 3 layers at 1mm thick each, your supposed to be able to increase your dB by 12. Check it out here: http://www.quietcoat.com/html/coverage_calculator.html
Yes, it is personal preference also. I used in my last car and LOVED it.

Okay, here they are. I also put some QuietCar on the underside of my car as well. Mainly under the trunk and around the license plate area. Upload
This is some more QuietCar under the bottom of the rear seats.

I have sprayed some rubberized undercoating on all of the QuietCar, just to had some more sound deadening. More to come, I am waiting on the front and rear speakers to come. Then, it's on, LOL.

5 gallons is $239.95 plus shipping. But I think their figures are a little off. I think that 5 - 6 gallons would be plenty. That's just me though, based on past experience. I think you could do that to your doors with 1 gallon, not 1 per, just 1 total. I would just check out how much that other stuff would cost compared to QuietCar. I knew about QuietCar from my previous car, I never heard of the other stuff, but it looks just as good or better. Let me know what you decide and if it works out for you. 1 gallon cost me $79.35 with shipping.

Okay, I received my front speakers and under car LEDs today. Had to order some new brackets for the front speakers, the old ones won't work. Dang it. Almost finished with the amp rack, finished the "hole" for it, pics below. Finished my toggle switch box. It will be going below my HU. My old HU was a double DIN and my new one is a single, so I had a cubby hole that I turned into a place for my 3 toggle switches. Here are the pics, enjoy!

kroger, so you got there wiring kit? go through the rubber grommet should be able to cut it with a razor, if it was evil like mine you will need a ~3" knife to get through the back side. the oil was for lube, usaly use WD-40. makes it 20 times easier, if you are feeling ballze drill through your fire wall on the battery side if you want shorter run, but 20' and under you should be good to go no matter what. 1/0 seems to big to run like you would 4 ga if you look at my latest pic's see if you have the same thing in your car. it made me rather happy when the idea poped in my head to run it like this. remember to zip tie in the engine bay, not to hot things. and its soooo much easier when the car is all pulled apart instead of fighting the car.

I let my 9 year old hold the power wire and he about fell over. He's a little dude, but awesome. Pics maybe later tonight, maybe tomorrow. I am also doing a couple of more things to the body. Okay, so I didn't get as much done this weekend as I had hoped. I got the rear 6x9s in and done, started to put my back seat back in, I know, I should run my wires first, but I have 3 children and no other vehicle, so I will suffer running the wire or pull my back seat out again. I haven't run my wires because I am waiting to get my HO alternator. Excessive Amperage quoted me a 200 for $345 shipped, not sure if I can get one for less. I did put some more of the chrome trim around my trunk and hood. Pics tomorrow. Also tomorrow I am going to try to drill my holes for the t-nuts and get my subs in the box. I have ordered 3 fans for my amp. Here is a diagram of how the amp will be cooled.

Okay, other than ordering my HO alt, I got my boards cut finally for my amp rack. These will be the "feet" for the board that the amp will be on. I am screwing them together and then siliconing them, really similar to a sub box. Here is a pic:

More to come tomorrow, all of my fans will be here, so I will be trying to work on that.

Daniel, I used flat black spray paint the first time and the second time, I found some spray paint that was speckled stuff. The speckled stuff I sprayed on and then went to take it off and wound up with the way it looks in the picture. Let me know if there is another type I should be using. Thanks for the nice comment.

Thanks steve. Here's an update for y'all. I got the alternator started to be taken out. Should be out and new one in tomorrow. Also, big 3 should be done tomorrow. I carpeted the amp rack and started on the "cooling system". I got the first hole cut and ready for the fan. Below are some pics that show what it will be like. I am going to put some screen over the holes. More to come tomorrow.

no you cant, its just to report the speed of the fan, you want an item called a relay. what that will do is hook in to the same wire as your remote and that will close a connection in the relay that will give power to the fans. its a very simple device shouldn't be more then 5$-10$ just make sure it supports the load you have, the fans will tell you there amperage usage, add it all up then give your self a little head way.

Okay, not much got done today. Mainly was working on getting the alternator installed. Everything went fine until I went to plug in the plug, it does not fit. The new alternator has some plastic blocking it on the sides. I am in contact with powerbastards and waiting a response. I now have to purchase and cut a new piece of plexi, the fans messed up the original. I also purchased some new toggle switches. Started to install the fans. See pics below.

Wow - very nice Eric.

1 question tho - what are the toggle switches for?

And btw - the underseat LEDs will look awesome at night. Just make sure you place them at the right angles so you get a very nice glow. I have the same to my car and looks very nice at night. I'll post a pic if u want. Very nice job u did!

Skullz, thank you very much. I prefer to have 1 toggle for my interior lights, 1 for my exterior lights and 1 for my bass. I would love to see your lights, especially so I can get the angle right.
Sean P, I am just replacing it, don't worry, I am still going to use plexi.
I am redoing the whole trunk carpet, I screwed that up, so stay tuned for new pics. Also, AWESOME news, I got the new alternator installed and working. Next is my big 3. No pics right now, we just had a huge storm and I don't want to go out in it. So check back tomorrow for pics. Thanks all. PS Death, if it wasn't for you alot of my ideas and clean installs would not have happened. So, thank you. And yours aren't that bad. LOL

Okay. I am getting so close to finishing the amp rack. As I said before I am replacing the trunk thing that covered the spare tire. I got my new piece of wood, my new carpet and my new plexi today. Pics below. I started to run my big 3, but I can not replace the battery to alternator wire, so I need to find out if I can just run one seperately and if I do will it be just like replacing the original? Anyone who can help, it will be greatly appreciated. I PM'd glasswolf about this also. But anybody's opinion will help. Here are the pics:

Still waiting to find out about the battery to alternator cable so I can get my big 3 done. No rush glass, just thought I would mention it again so I can see if anyone else has an opinion. I got the holes for the fans cut, they are looking good. Oh and I tested the fans, man that is going to be some awesome cooling, they really push the air. Anyway, more to come tommorw.

Sean P, Thanks for the compliment. I got those from a local auto parts store, O'Reilleys and Auto Zone. And thanks for the compliment on the amp rack, and of course, I was hoping someone else might copy it, go ahead, but let me know how it turns out.
Updates: I built some sides for the amp rack. (see pics) I built these because when I put the amp rack in and put the board over it you could see some of the trunk. I out the new toggles in the box. And I drilled holes in the side of the amp rack for all of the wires. (see pics) I might carpet over the wires, not sure yet. And now pics:

Yea well, that Sunday thing didn't work out. Sorry all, I have had some major personal issues to work out. I did try to get my subs in the other day. That is when I saw that my t-nuts were coming out. I thought I might have to build or buy a new box. However, I am going to try putting epoxy in the holes and see how that does. Hopefully it will hold up until I can get enough $ for a new box. Stay posted, I am close to being done.

Well, here is 1 hell of an update. Thank God I did not have my amp or subs in my car last night. Some young dumb punk or punks decided that since I have rims I have something worth stealing. They broke my driver's side window. They got an iPod and that was it. No stereo, no subs, no amp. I would have loved to see their faces when they got inside. Looks like someone beat them to it. LOL Anyway, waiting for insurance to contact me or I will contact them tomorrow. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Yep, only the window. Thanks death, damn insurance though. I had a $500 deductible, so I have to pay for it myself. The thing that really sucks is the window was tinted. But, yea, could have been MUCH worse. Thanks death, I was considering doing that anyone, now I definetly will. My new girlfriend lives in Toledo and I won't give up my car, bass or her. LOL Thanks again all. I will keep you updated.

its stupid how some people just see a good thing and go "oh look that looks great but it would look better with a busted window and stolen ipod"

LOL Eric, almost exactly my thoughts. Well, got the window repaired, but now I am in need of a new box. The one I had was a POS, guess you get what you pay for. I have been in contact with Bassman and I am going to have him build me one as soon as I can come up with the $.

Anyway, maybe just have bassman design something for you with a cut list an such an build one yourself. Just a thought,it would save you a little cash anyway.

Well, after what seems like forever, I am back. Been doing a little on the whole thing. Mainly running wires for lights. I have been having some major issues with life in general. Anyway, I looked into getting a sealed box from Bassman, but now I am not sure if I want sealed or ported. I listen to mainly rap. I am looking for SPL but without the rumbly type bass. I really would like to get the SPL of a ported box but with the tight bass of a sealed box. Any suggestions? Bassman?

Eric, I remember when my mother passed away. It was super hard and it seems like you are traveling in a dark abyss. But trust me, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully what ever you are going through will conclude soon. I wish you peace and good luck with your build. Truthfully, a lot of us bass heads do not install because we want to, we do it because we have too. When life and people pi.ss me off, I take a well needed cruise, so I do not choke the chit out of those around me. LOL

Hey all, been working somewhat. Got the amp mounted to the amp rack, real clean looking. I carpeted over the screws. Got my under seat lighting in and wired. Got my gain knob mounted, it's in my center console box so that it's hidden. I'm trying to be cautious about what can be seen. I used some u-bolts to secure the amp rack to the car. Yes, I soldered the amp screws and used hex screws. How do you get the dang 0 gauge wire into the holes for the power and ground on the amp? Dang things won't take all of the wire. More to come. Now, pics.

This is the amp mounted on the amp rack. Can't really see it, but you can't see any screws or mounting.

These are the u-bolts from underneath the car. I will be cutting them down.

And with them on.

These are some screws I picked up for mounting my subs. Let me know if you think they are good or not. Was thinking the non screwhead would be somewhat anti-theft.

looking really good. trim the wire a bit, maybe some silicone in the screw holes that go out side, some zip ties for wiring under seats just in case, and your car's floor looks about like mine.

as for the screws can you take the washers off? you may try some t-nuts and some bolts.
