i dont know anything about car audio or what brands are good and i dont want to get bad sound subs. im looking for subs with excellent sound quality, and about an equal mixture of bass and highs. right now i have 0 in my account but soon im going to start saving for a system in my f150. any recommendations on what i should look for or into?

Welcome to eCoustics. The guys here will give you good advice on fantastic products. We all have one shortcoming though, we do not have your ears. Simply put ,you need to go out and listen to a few products and see what sounds good to YOU. The folks here will soon weigh in and make amicable suggestions. Good luck on your search dude.

what would be a realistic price range?
to get great sound is going to cost more than $200 and if you have nothing saved up it could take you longer than you think to build your system up. i would guess most people spend months getting their system the way they want it too, but its worth it in the end

kickers? as in the brand? theres better amps.

get a nice saz-1000D a SA - 12, nice head unit, some good 1/0ga wire, knu or shok, good set of rca's, a sax - 125.2, poke around for a set of components you like the sound of, that should get you started.

what type of vehicle do you have?
that can help with the size of the sub, but i say a 15" ssa xcon or 15" fi q for great sound, or you could go smaller as well, maybe run some 12's or 10's
sundown amps are very nice and one of the best you can buy right now
could easily get the subs and amp taken care of for 600 or so.
you have any experience with building boxes? the box is probably the most overlooked thing in car audio. new people will just get the cheapest box possible and wonder why it doesnt sound that great. you really need to look into getting a custom box built if your going for aported set up
