Ok guys i just got my HDC3 15's in and i decided i would like to break them in before i put them in my car. I have them hooked up to my home audio receiver.

Now i have a tone generator and im just wondering what you guys think would be the best tone sweep to break the subs in.

Should i do 1hz-250hz should i do 20hz-80hz i mean the possibilities are endless. let me know what you guys think. I currently have it from 15-50 until im told otherwise, and i will continue to play it until my receiver gets to warm.

where r the pix ?

this is what i do :

run a 20hz constant for a hr or 2 the 1st few days at about 1\4" excursion with low volume to loosen it up a bit , then as each day goes by i use a bit more vol & let it run for a bit longer with a little more excursion...by a wk they shud be loosen up fairly good enough

that is my personal method which ppl may or may not agree with but it works for me ....

Dont worry there coming, it just sucks i have to shrink everything.

i had the sweeping last night for about 6 hours on and off from 15-30hz with about 3/16 excursion. I guess i will bump it up a notch today.

not bad but lessen down on the time to about 2hrs max since u wont want those coils to heating up after 6hrs , if u want them to break in faster rather than 6hrs non stop : u cud probably run it at closer intervals meaning give them a hr or 2 to cool down then back it again

might be a easier for u to make a vid & put it on youtube instead ....
