Question about box specs

Tell me guys.
Why shouldn't I have a box built to manufacturer's recommended specs?

I had a used 12w7 that I returned due to a faulty voice coil(got my money back) and now I want to save up and buy a brand new one.

My current box for a 12w7 is 1.9 cuft @ 30 hz.
Would it be wise to get a new box built to JL recommended specs 1.75 cuft @ 32hz? I want it to be a daily driver, but still want it to go low and loud.

Any advice?

the diff inbetween 1.75^3 and 1.9^3 isent that far off, but i would wait for some one else to chime in. i have a 10" type e that i got for my g/f and they rec like a 1.5^3 and its in a 1.3^3 and sounds rather good. from what i rember bigger box just makes it more "boomie".
