Hello, im brand new to this forum but i used it alot when getting my system, so i figured i come here for help.

About a weak ago, i got my subwoofer installed, and running. It was great when it first was in, but now after listening to it for a little while, it's not very loud. Maybe i had my hopes to high, but i just assumed it be slightly louder. SOOO, I'm guessing that I have done something wrong or there's something i can do to improve it. I'm not looking for crazy 162 db or anything, just something with a little more boom. I have a video uploading to YouTube right now to let you hear what im talking about, but its not quite done yet (I'll post it when its finished.) It's in a 2005 F150 XL behind the seat. Any ideas?

My setup is a:
Soundstream T5 12"
Custom built box: 2.5 Vb , 4" x 8" tub port
Power Acoustik Gothic OVN1-4000D Amp
Sony CDX-GT610UI Head Unit
Stock Door Speakers

i've partially done that but heres the video, its incredibly dark and i used the light of my phone to illuminate the scene, so it doesn't improve very much, but it lets you here it.

From what i read, PA is over rated but even if it was over rated by 50 thats still 600 at 4 ohms so shouldn't it be louder?

do you have both rca's plugged in on amp from the head unit?
How do you have the sub wired? please explain thoroughly.

What vehicle/charging system do you have?
what isthe actual voltage of your charging system when the system if playing? Check at Amp power wires with a DMM.
What size power wire/ speaker wire are you using?

How do you have settings set on amp at the moment?

I all else fails just wire it to 1 ohm load. It should move then.

The RCAs are good.
Its wired in series to a 4 ohm load. One positive connects to the positive on one voice coil, then the negative of that vc is connected to the positive to the other vc and then the the negative runs back to the amp.
I gots me a 2005 F150 and i don't know what you mean by charging system.
I don't have a way to check the voltage to my amp.

This is something that might be the problem, the wiring for the sub is 12 gauge running from the amp but the wiring connecting the two voice coils is only 16 gauge, possibly 14, but its not 12.

I don't know for sure what all the knobs on the amp do so i don't mess with much, but my gain is at ~65%, Subsonic is at 35, LPF is around 65hz, bass boost is at ~3dbs, and the phase is 180 just cause it sounded louder.

Wire it to 1ohm and just take it easy on the sub.
That amp is actually ~1400wrms

if you have it wired at 4ohm and the amp is 1400 rms then your only giving it around 400rms... wire it down to 1ohm as others have suggested for more "boom"

My guess is its either wired to 4 ohms or your subsonic filter is set too high.
