What are the best shallow mount subs?

Ok, I just bought a single cab Comanche and my current setup will not fit.
So I was wondering what the best shallow mount sub would be.
I have been looking at the 12TW5's and they look pretty impressive.
I need two that can handle a total of 1000 rms from a JL 1000/1.

How much room do you have to work with? I know you said shallow mount, but how shallow is it?

Right now there is in old school JL 12" sub in sealed box that fits in pretty snug behind the bench seat. I don't have any exact measurements at the moment.

Maybe a foot at the floor. And the seat leans back at an angle so it gets more and more shallow the taller the box. If I could think of a way to fit my 13W7 in there. I would, but I don't think I could. Its just WAY too deep. lol

^Word. That's what I was going to suggest assuming you have the clearance for them. I'd be willing to bet you will.

I'm always up for trying out something new.
Now I just have to sell off the W7 and order myself a pair of SI Mags. lol

I saw the power handling was 500-1000 rms. Do you think a single JL 1000/1 would do the trick? Or should I just order one mag and put all of it to one sub?

At 250 per sub I can afford two. But what would be best? C'monnn...
Need some feedback guys! lol
What'd be best?

The SI Mag V4 is an efficient driver. It uses the xbl^2 motor on it and it will have great SQ. If I were you, I would email SI themselves and ask about whether one or two would be better. I personally would probably just run one SI Mag. It won't be the loudest sub ever but it will give you a nice substage.

How loud do you estimate it'd be?
I like sound quality, but I also like low bass that turns your seat into a massage chair. lol
I was reading up on the website and it said that it gets deep bass.
And the fact that the sub would be directly behind me would probably help. lol

Not a clue what you'll hit. Too many variables to list to be honest.

The xbl^2 motor is notorious on subs that have good low-end. It's seen on the Adire Brahma, the old RE XXX (I don't think the new XXX's have it), Ascendant Audio Avalanche and some other subs.

Ok. I looked up some reviews that were posted on SI's website forum. Pretty impressive. I'll bug them with my questions. lol
Thanks for the input man. If you have any other ideas for shallow mounts and whatnot shoot em at me, always open to other ideas.

What about the SI BM Subwoofers? They are only 3 1/2 inches deep and only recquire .5 cubes sealed. And at 300-500 RMS I could run two.

Any opinions on how good this sub is? Or should I stick with the Mag?

to be honest jordon,

SI BM or SI Mag, they are both quality products that will do the job with great performance...go with what is easier to install and cheaper on the wallet

Don't know if the new BM's are out yet, I'd just get 2 Mags and upgrade power later.

Ok, I was just curious. I was reading up on it from the website, but I don't think they are available for sale quite yet.
According to Nick from Stereo Integrity I should be able to run two Mags off of my JL amp no problem. He recommended one for sound quality and two if I wanted it loud. (common sense lol) but its always more reassuring to hear it from an expert I guess.
