I've herd that Rampage makes some of the best HU's on the market right now & I think they're only like $40 or so.

You heard wrong...... nothing else comes close to the "Big 3" of HUs: alpine, clarion, and eclipse.

Ok, just FYI, I was being sarcastic about Rampage. Rampage is an AutoZone/ Wal-Mart type brand and they make crap. The only reason I even mentioned it was because they are in his price range, and even then I'd buy a better brand used. It was a joke.

Oh, and comparing Alpine & Pioneer together is a huge insult to Alpine.

Trust me, I have an Alpine IVA-D310, I know you get what you pay for...usually. I wouldn't even consider Pioneer, let alone Rampage. Sry guys, I guess I kinda thought that post would be an obvious joke.

"depends on which alpine we are talking about"

No matter which Alpine HU we're talking about, they're still light years ahead of Pioneer in quality.

that is your opinion, and i'm sure there are experienced peeps that will both agree and disagree. I respectfully disagree.. I would take some premiers over most Alpines, even with rca grounding issues. JMHO

I'm guessing if "ALL" of your friends & family have been using Pioneer, then they probably aren't going to be capable of noticing the difference in quality. So I wouldn't worry about it Chad.
