Component Speakers

Silver Member Username: DuckaHoughton/Hancock while..., MI United States Post Number: 488 Registered: Jan-08 | Hey guys, I've been thinking about getting some component speakers lately, but I havnt seen any that will fit my car(Olds Alero). I wanna put them in the same place as the stock speakers(4x6 and some 1"(I think) tweeters). I dont want to make pods for the speakers because I dont have experience with fiberglass and I dont want to do any permanent modifications to my car. I wouldnt be opposed to building a custom component set with parts from like partsexpress, but I would need some instructions on how to build a well tuned component system. So if anyone has any suggestions for me that would be great. Ohh yeah. My budget is no more than $150. |

Gold Member Username: Tatonka-[Team Audible Insanity]- Post Number: 2281 Registered: Mar-07 | You will not fit anything bigger than a 4 or 4x6 component in the door of an olds alero. The mounting depth is EXTREMELY shallow. Also, the molding of the door gets in the way for anything over that size. The only way to fit a nice component set in will be to build pods. Believe me, I have tried every other way lol.  |

You'll see that we don't have much leg room as it is. There really isn't a place to put kickpanels that won't get in the way. |

No mounting depth whatsoever in the door, it didn't even have speakers in the doors to begin with. Had to build enclosures. Mine are MDf though, not the best cosmetics but you can't make a better enclosure.  |
