ULTIMATE series TA2 is a HiFi two-channel amplifier with 2 x 100 Watts output power. This is an extremely well-sounding amplifier for car use. We did not compromize in any section of the construction when we designed the electronic circuits. The TA2 is using the very best components in all sections of the amplifier, from the input circuitry, through the whole amplifier to the final output stage. Two pieces of CV4010 pentodes is used in the signal path. These tubes are made by VALVE Electronics in England during 1982 - 1984. The Valve Electronics company produced best sounding tubes in the tube industry before they closed. The tubes are spare parts for military equipment so they fulfil military specifications. We use silver wire Capacitors in signal path and power supply for a focused sound image. Special designed DLS Audio capacitors in key points and WIMA polypropylene capacitors. Four pieces of 4700 uF on each channel for a deep and wide sound stage. Dual mono power system design plus separate power supply for tube and pre-amp stage for clear sound reproduction.
- RMS output per channel at 13,8 volts, 20 Hz - 20 kHz , < 0,04% distortion. Separate level controls for each channel.

Take two good quality amps rated at low THDs. Would somebody like to tell me what makes one an "SQ amp" and another one not. haha.

I dare you to try and tell the difference between those amps.

If you get zapco get the comp series. The refs are good, dont get me wrong but the competition are crazy. Maybe try and find a used C2K 3.0x?

For the price I would probably go with the DLS though. I cant see myself spending $650+ on the zapco that does 75x2 @4ohm... its pretty stupid if you think about it.

Haha yeah... You would have to get the DLS Ult A2.
I didnt even notice you put the TA2...that things crazy. Mobilesq has the A2 for 440+shipping, but they go for like 550 in shops. Id almost rather paying the extra 100 tho...never know what could happen.

You could also do the DLS Ref RA20...rated at 100x2@4 but its really closer to 140-150.

I hate to throw another amp into the mix...but i have to.

Helix B2 Precision 80x2@4ohm@12volts. I would put it above the DLS A2 and Zapco ref but not quite as good as the zapco comp 3.0x. I think they are close to 800 new...but if you can get one used it would be awesome.

ok i am only thinking of spending 500 or less. the shop where i got my dls speakers gave it to me for less than mobilesq so i am sure the amp will be less too. if i can get the Ult A2 for around 400 bux it would be sweet.

the zapco c2k is just too pricey for me though. i can't be spending that much money on component amps. no matter how much i want to brag. lol.

The C2k is nice, the dc line is more affordable, and a killer line of amps. I do like the tubes in the DLS tho. Tough choice chad. But if your going tube, look at Butler and Helix too.

chad i was talking to the dls dealer i got my nobeliums from.. he said the ur6 was his least favorite set from dls and that the iridiums have a lot of midbass but require more power than rated to get them going

for the extra money he was saying the iridiums was the way to go so if you really love your set of comps.. imagine when you decide to upgrade :-) .. you'll be in heaven haha

ive heard the iridiums lacked but i guess its all because those people either didn't power them enough of poor install..

his friend runs a set of nobeliums like me, but runs 500rms per mid

well i was talking to the dls rep himself when i made the decision. not my dls dealer. the actual guy that works at dls. he is running the ur6s in his car cause the irridiums were lacking mid not mid bass.

btw the irridiums would of only been 100 bux more. so yeah i would of got that instead but the dls rep said get the ur6s.

also he said in his opinion the ur6s is really good and not much different from the nobeliums.

now i know what you are thinking. why would the dls rep not try to sell me the most expensive? cause the shop that orders the dls for me is a good friend of the rep. they have been friends for a long time.
