i think you have to loop the ipod....another words on the top of the ipod (where the headphone jack plug in) you need the a/v cable connecting to the little box of the a/v input of the head unit. then there should be a cable (jlink ?) that plugs from the hide away box to the bottom of the ipod. this is how i got my dual xdvd8183 to play videos from the ipod. hope this helps.

Anthony Crispe -

I think I've found the solution to your problem. I'm not sure how helpful it will be considering the head unit you have in your car but it might help explain a little. I am also having the same problem. The videos wont play on my Jensen 9311TS using my iPod nano 3rd Generation. But videos play just fine using an iPod Video 5th Gen.

So anyway for quite some time i've tried to figure out what the heck the problem is. This is what i've found out so far...

I found this discussion in an Apple forum... http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1153331

There you will read that Apple has created a universal dock because newer iPods are not compatible with the older "cords". I'm going to enclose a few other links that helped me understand exactly what they did. Hope this helps in some way.
