-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A friend of mine went to CC today to buy a PS3(80GB). So as he is doing that I wonder over to the car audio section and there was a couple guy over there checking stuff out(of coures listing to the Kicker Solo Baric L5's). The the CC guy come over and one of the guys said I'll take 4 L5 12s(250each) and 4 ZX750.1(475each) for each sub. I said you know theres better for the money the guy that was buying said like WHAT. So I started naming AQ,RD,AA,Fi,SS etc. he said I've used most of those names and Kicker is hands down better than all^^^^^. So I ask him where did you get those names I mentioned above he said at his local shop(WRONG).
To make a long story short this dude payed $1000 for 4 L5 12s and $1900 for 4 ZX750.1s. $2900
LMAO esp.. L5's tho haha.....what an idiot thanks for the laugh bro. my self i owned the l7 15" but i got tired of it n finally got the HDC315 when it came out. i love it
ughh damn just makes me p1ssed here i am stressing bcuz i need 465 to buy a HO alt and then another 450 to buy my dd's and this guy is blowin 3 stacks on garbage ughhh i hate rich kids lol
are u serious bro ... ur gonna say its bad woofer? why is it a bad woofer explain that to me ... ur gonna tell me someones whos installed about 1000 l5s that its a bad sub ... if so then ur wrong man ... i never said they were a good sub .. but i never said they were a bad sub ... they perform when done correctly ...
u just love to think that ur mr high and mighty car audio dont ya ... cuz the guy didnt buy a DD woofer hes wrong for his purchase ... but isnt the first rule of sound quality and performance say that sound from your driver is subjective to ur ear , what sounds good to you might not sound good to another ... let people live their life ... if hes happy with it then why post some stupuid @$$ picture ...
There are TONS of good brands of car audio equipment (not just DD) that I recommend to people all the time....... square kickers aren't included cause they sound like azz.
mike the l5 and l7 arnt very good(not that you ever said they were but). they tend to fail easy. sure you said installed correctly but the people that buy those subs dont know much about car audio and tend to beat on them and all kinds of werid sh;t. if you installed 1000s of them i sure you have seen people come to you with a fucked up install. anyway they should make the sub durable so noobs wont keep breaking them.
and yes sq is subjective but some people just dont know because they havnt heard better.
I kinda see mike's point. If you are the type of person who only buys retail, then those prices arent too bad. Yea, he did spend wayyy to much compared to online, but look at any local dealer, or even best buy and american. Im not saying the L5's are good or bad, they just are what they are. There isnt many other subs you can get for $250 at a retail store (around by me anyways) that get as loud, but i guess If you want to be loud, and only loud, then they are the way to go.
Im still not saying the square kickers are good, as Ive seen many blowns one on ebay, but look at what that kids circumstances are and the price he paid compared to other brands at similair stores.
