i showed up for my class an hour early today so i decided to sit in my car play with the HU for about 30 minutes....first time i have done it since i got my stuff installed. searching around i found this BBE feature. didnt know what it was so i turned it on cause it was off. it made it louder and cleaner it sounded like. not sure if it should be on or not so i searched for it on this site and read it shuold be on. chad and jexx both stated to have it on. so before i keep it on, i just wanted to make sure i was correct in assuming to have it on?.....thanks

Also go to settings by clicking and holding the joystick thing for 5 seconds, it gives you start up options. Set the Calibration to "low" instead of high.

well IMO i just like natural sounds off a HU without the need to process or enhance anything ...on my deck pretty everything is set almost factory except a slight rise in tweeter & a sub high pass of 63hz i think ...no real need for to play around with anything else since my deck has quite good sq to it ....

When i had my 860 HU, i didnt need the BBE feature but when i changed to the 780mp i definetly used it at level 1. It made a night and day differance in my case.

Just got a 880 with stock speakers and I keep the BBE on at 0 and it sounds badazz. I had my dad listen to it and he thought I installed my subs already. lmao

I have a pretty basic/older pioneer and I have an option of 1-3 for BBE, and I keep it at 3, but the subwoofer low because of the difference it makes in any song.

but i also have another option for the bass engine where I can set it at a spec fq, like 80hz, 120hz, etc. where should that be set?

"Also go to settings by clicking and holding the joystick thing for 5 seconds, it gives you start up options. Set the Calibration to "low" instead of high."

i turned the BBE on and set it at 0 and it sounds good. but i held in the joystick for 5+ seconds but nothing happened....it just acted like i hit it once and gave me menus like normal....

the joystick on the headunit not the remote. make sure your head unit is OFF, then it lets you change time and settings ect. thats where the calibration is
