I need 4 good, preferrably GREAT, 12" subs for my car. They're goin' in a Sealed Box, stuffed w/ Polophyl, w/ about 1.3-1.5cuft. in each chamber. Soo, Please give me some suggestions.

PS - They need to be either Dual 2 or Single 4. ( I need a 1 ohm load ).

My currently considerations are:
Cerwin Vegas ( The chrome lookin' ones )
Treo TSXs
Kicker CVRs ( Kinda iffy on these )
JL Audio W3s

That's about it... So let me know!

Thanks!
DJ

hopefully you have atleast 2000 watts for 4 12s and if you have 2000 watts then hopefully you got a HO alt and maybe a battery or two in two in the back and big 3

I have a Diesel Audio Titanium N2 3000.1 ( 1-ohm stable ). It's RMS is 2800-3000 @13.8. * Supposeably * I'm not denyin' it though... I have a Yellow Top in to back, and an upgrade Alternator ( 130 ) - '95 Honda Accord can only go up so much ( Original is 95, I believe ). Oh yeah, and a 3 Farad Cap. Hopefully that'll do it. It worked with 3 12"s, minus the battery on a Kicker KX1200.1.

I was told that Type Rs get hella loud sealed. Especially in quantities higher than 2. But I never tried a Type R.

What's the price range on them, as far as gettin' 4 of them?

That Diesel Audio will probably give you a good 2000 rms at 14.4 volts. Are you wanting just pain loud or sound good too? Shoot me an email I will see what I can do for you.

you can get away with like 1000 rms and underpower them my buddy did that with his four 12's and then he installed a phoenix gold bass cube it boosts his spl 3 db when he uses it.....but if your maxing your subs power the bass cube doesnt seem to add anything...at least in out tests in my bros car

Kevin actally it's givin' me WAY more than 2000rms. I got my amp tested, Music Mart Inc. showed that it was more around 3100+ rms with my current setup.

But Kevin, i'll contact you... I only crank it up for LOUDNESS. ( Subs that is ) my highs and mids are SQ great.

Why not some Fi SSDs? Everyone says they do great sealed and sound very good. They'd match your rms about as close as you're going to get too.

194 shipped with copper coil option each. great choice though especially if you're going sealed.

Hey DJ,

How did Music Mart test the amp?

Last time I was in there, they didnt even have a termlab.

Did they use a dummy load and a scope, or did they just come out to your car w/ a multimeter?

Just wondering.

Where can you get resistors that will handle 3100wrms? A multimeter alone will not tell you much, certainly not the rms. That won't tell you clipping either. How do you 'know for a fact'? I'd call them up and ask for rms ratings.

The amp wasn't/isn't clippin' because my gain is yet to be touched. I doubt an amp can clip on Bass Boost alone, with volume not exceeding 26, Bass on CD Play 0 and below... You won't find any, Dre, owner of SynQuest ( Another audio store where I stay ), knows to much *beep* for his own good... Explained to me that that amp is doin' 3000rms @ 1ohm.

But, ok... Everyone is entitled to his/her and their on opinion... That's why you post question on these forums. For everyone answers...

Don't knock anyone's stuff... Especially if you have heard it, have seen the setup or experimented w/ the EXACT product. Which no one in the forum, that's replied, has.
