i'm hopelessly ignorant at tuning aero ports and calculating port displacement so can someone design me a box 23" wide, 18" deep, and however tall it has to be. needs to be 6 cu ft after displacement and tuned to 22 hz.

this is a home theatre box for a 15" Arsenal

basically the way I understand it it is area inside the port. So if its flared the increased width will raise the tune so youll need a longer length for the same tune

if its 6 cuft net, and you want 22hz

it can have 2 4" ports .....21.4" long each

or 3 3"....18.5" long each

(flared ports)

your looking at some pretty long ports and not getting much port area....what size/kind ports do you plan on using??

so a three inch port 3 x 3.25= 9.75 3.25 x 3.50=11.375 3.50 x 3.75=13.125=33.75 volume of port which would be equal to a 3 inch round by 11.25 inch long port

i did this wrong...so a three inch port 3 x 3.25= 9.75 3.25 x 3.50=11.375 3.50 x 3.75=13.125=33.75 its 34.25 but you get the drift

2.50 cubic feet net would need a 27.66 inch long port for a 35 hz tune but flared like I showed would need a 28.44 inch long port .78 inches longer for the same port tune

im wrong again but im not gonna correct it bottom line its simple math once you understand what your changing and the port will always be longer using a flared port
