Kinda new to all this so i don't exactly what to look for but i was looking at some Sony XS-L154P5B and was wondering if their any good or is their something i should know about these subs or Sony as a brand all together?

yeah the subs amps speakers are horrible some of their decks use to be ok. how much you lookin to spend? whats it goin in? what type of music do you listen to? sq? or spl?

Thanks well I'm looking to spend around $200 and it's goin in a 2003 ford mustang listen to mostly rap and reggae

$200 on subs alone?

then get one 12" Fi SSD @ www.ficaraudio.com

in a Mustang that should be plenty loud

hmmm that doesnt ive you a lot of options. there is a sub called a maw12 its like 70 bucks there was a review on it and it did real well. then you might be able to find a 300 watt amp for 130 to 150. wooferetc.com may have an ampp for you. but then youll need an enclosure and wiring. those sony subs are over rated. thy would be ok if you just want a lil bump in the trunk...or even junk in tha trunk lol. but there is better for the money

and always go by rms power and need to figure out what the amps load is stable at. ike 1ohm or 2ohms. say if your runnin one sub and one amp. if the amp is two ohm stable then youll either need a svc 2ohm sub or a dual 4 ohm voice coil sub or a dual 1 sub.

i could get a lil more cash maybe something near 300 and this is just on the Sub not the Amp but I'd like to hear some good recommendations on amp to go with the sub

For 300 get a Fi BL in the largest size you can. How much room do you have to work with? A hifonics 2006d is a decent amp for the money, or a Sundown 1500 would be a great match for that sub.

thanks Troy do you have a link on where to find those? Not sure how to say this but i got 15" Vertical 37" Horizontal and 31" from the back of the trunk to the front if that makes sense...

Thank you i think I'm going to pick up one of those but would you mind explaining what these are? P Chamfer,Flatwind:,Extreme Lead,Universal?? those are the option's on it and don't know what those 4 mean...

i didnt mean to say "y" at the end.

i was going to say "you dont need spl leads" but erased it assuming you would figure out you DONT need spl leads... :-)

and the BLs are bad, you will likey...
