Voltage drop?

i just got a nice lil voltmeter so i can see where my voltage is at every point and i was wondering whats the lowest voltage i should let it drop too before i turn the volume down because today i was gettin to about 11.5, i still have stock electrical for a couple more months unfortanetly....so i have to really be carefull

depends on what you were pullin when you set your gains on your amp

my gain on my massive audio P3000.1 is exactly half way. i know its only set to about .6 or so of what the amp can do because at level 21/28 the power switches from alt to battery and with my alt that is about 1300 watts

i got a 70amp alt stock and wen my car is idleing and i turn it on a bass test it will make my car idle funny and sometimes go dead lol, and all i got is a memphis prd1000

but when your voltage drops to 12.5 its pulling from the battery so i woulndt let it get any lower then that because that is when it starts to damage the alt.

so you may let your charging system drop down to 12.5v, and no less, with no problem? correct? im just making sure on this...
