Post Number: 1294 Registered: Mar-06 | lol im him... and please watch with last names... i dont want my name coming back in a google search... so admin please erase that if you read this... but anyways... i have a phd5000d right now.. and i had a phd10000d.. the 10000 was a defect or they just suck.. lol the phd5000 is nice, people say the high thd sucks..but it doesnt bother me any..sounds clean enough for me.. i dont have a clamp meter to really get the true power from it but i did it with the voltage output squared divided by imdependance formula and i got about 2800rms back with the phd5000 so yea im sure it will do it, but thats because i was at about 12.8-13V when doing this.amps tested at 14.4V or so i think. i need more power upgrades still, and now i MUST get them so i can power the second phd5000 im getting |

You take a volt meter and play a 60Hz test tone and set your gain up until it hits the amount of power it is rated at (rms) but to get the voltage your gunna need...... Say the amp is rated 3000rms@2ohms and your running it at 2 ohms... change to specs of amp at your ohm load...... 3000x2=6000(Rms X ohm load) What is the squaare root of 6000(Your above total) the square root of 6000 = 77.45 77.45Vac at 600hz test tone would be correct for setting the amp with voltage meter on the amp outputs... |
