"and ive heard 2.5's are equal to L7's in spl but surpasses the L7 in sq greatly"

who told u that???Loololol....U do realize for the price nothing gets louder then an L7....If everything in the install is perfect..I can not think of a single sub for under $200 that will get as loud or louder then an L7, with the same amount of power..in a "perfect install"....cant think of a single one..but then again it is 1:30 am....but still.lol

oh well what about this SPL amp i was going to get it was 1800 at one ohm rms and i use to have a 1600 watt spl amp for the Atlas i use to have so i know that they bump good but isnt that going to over power them too much cus price wise its good a lil under 300 and would be a good match for the pair

SPL=crap...u are making a huge jump from a 300rms sub to 2 750+rms subs...max watts are pointless...

Look for an amp that does 1500-2000rms @1ohm or 2ohm..depending on the vc configs of the sub

no that hifonics atlas i had was 900 watts rms 1800 peak and the spl amp i had was 1600 max but was giving my sub 745 watts rms

lol well it burnt up two 15" Audiobahns that were 650 rms each so it was pushing good enough then i took them back for just the single 12 and it was just as loud if not a lil louder then that got jacked

so what is the cause of clipping?

basically trying o get more out of from your amp than it really can.. turning loud on h.u... turnign up bb.. turning up gain/remote bass.. all these basically can cause clipping. o yes and try not turn hu past 75 percent of voulme knob. putting sub into a small as* eclsure than its reccomended for(ive had exper

so if i have an equalizer and i have all my things on the HU down but the sub output on the equalizer all the way up can that cuase clipping as well?

You won't need to turn the sub output on your h.u. all the way up if your gain on amp is set correctly. The objecive is to set the voltage(gain) to match your hu's preouts voltage..

so do what do u measure the voltage with so u can make sure they match well since im getting it profesionally installed so it can have the warranty they will do that for me right?

yes it matters..where the voltage is set...That is why u messed up those audioburns...Generally speaking the higher the HU's voltage the better...
