Yesterday I turned the stock head unit up too high for too long and the stock speakers all make a buzzing sound when any bass is applied to them at all...

I need a good idea of what brands to be looking at... It's a '95 Dodge Caravan and everytime I go to those fit your vehicle things I get a different answer...

I know the backs are 6x9 and I would rather just replace them with midbass or something like that...

I don't know about the fronts but I think it's a component system.... I'm not sure at all...

Any suggestions anyone??? I think we could handle to let go of maybe $500 (maybe $700).

Thank you lol.

Oh, there we go...

Dash in front=5.2
front door=6.5
Rear=6x9(dunno if anything should go there)

7.875"dash depth Din and a half (cg,e,gc,ir)

Hope that helps!

I can't remember but isn't it in Caravan some have door speakers other have dash speakers but never both. Depends on model. If you door have no grill or anything that looks like grills then your speakers are on the dash. Also will you be adding an amp to power the components. Also 500$ for what, all the speakers, amp, and HU?

Well...

I was thinking to spend the money over time. The speakers in the front are a component system with treble in dash and bass in door, I think, by what it sounds like and where I put my ear. Maybe I should replace the component system in the front and get a step-up HU when I can to start.

We might be getting a new car later anyway so I don't want to blow all my money right now just in case we do get a new van/car soon. I'm just looking for something to provide a good sound right now!

Maybe I should lower the max I'll spend to about $150 for just a 6.5" bass speaker fix... I just think it's a good idea to wait, you know

I just went to the vehicle fit at that site and it says the front doors are 5x7. Other sites said it was 6.5". It still says the dash is 5 1/4 though so that's solid. What am I to do? should I go out to the van and just check (when I can of course) ?

What are you talking about? Of course I talk to whoever's on if that's what you mean. Otherwise the only thread I can think of is where I helped that guy and I said I'm here to ask questions and answer questions. Otherwise, what do you mean?

The bass speaker in the door is 5x7 and the dash is 5 1/4. I figure I can redo it to make it much, much better.

I was in Kansas and that's not where I live so I wasn't on haha.

Thanks for suggestions or what you know should go there. I don't want to spend ridiculously high!

most audio stores start @ $100 for entry level speakers which i think is stupid. two best places that i have found are

www.onlinecarstereo.com
www.sonicelcetronix.com
and of course
www.ebay.com

or if you want to look locally

www.craigslist.com
