how are the 15 HD3 compared to a 18" FI Q ?? granted all the variable are the same...SPL and SQ ?

The HD3 can handle 3000+RMS the Q can only handle around 1500RMS max. And the Q is more of a sq sub.

It all depends on what you want...and how much power ur willing to go with...if you want SQL leaning more toward SPL and hit really low the HD3 is for you

If you want more SQ then go "Q"

ive read somewhere that the Q struggles with the lows...

is there a huge gap between the Q and HD3 in the SPL department, typically id like to keep it under 2000 RMS for 2 subs...so at 2000 watts RMS (1000 per sub) would HD3 be better for SPL than the Q ?

I would still take a HD3, why? Because you can give them 1000rms no problem. And when you have the money, give them 3000rms each. They work fine on 1000rms, and are beasts at 3000rms.
