if you compete USACi and keep the box/amp/subs below the window line and behind the door jam....you will be in stock.

What stock division depends on the amps. Most likly stock 601-1800w though w/ 2 amps. (unless the amps are rated at more than 900w each @ 4ohm)

those are the USACi rules...they are in the process of changing the power classes, but all other rules will stand.

Kevin,
Usaci goes by your amps 4ohm power rating. (except in steet-beat)
If you go over the window line, you will have to play in Modified. (ex, vehicles w/ walls...i am stuck in this class since i have a full size truck and took the back seat out...w/ a mini truck, you can play in stock if you stay below the window line)

You must have all amps/sub/boxes behind the b-pillar (door jam)...or they will stick you in Super Mod Extreme.

Adam,
if your box is in the trunk, you will be in stock 601-1800. (unless you work at a shop or are sponsored...then you would be in Pro-stock 0-1000)

if you can keep your voltage above 11v...yes, that 2500d will take .5ohm DCR for burps.

Here is a random question. Could you take the "guts out of a 2500 w amp and stick it in a 1500 w amp and get away with it? I hope that makes sense. Not trying to do it, just wondering

Competitors whose systems include amplifiers that are not manufacturer rated, are modified internally, or not commercially available will be required to compete in the unlimited power class of their respective division.

Troy,
If you get a true 7300w out of that amp on a 14v system...dam.

I have heard of a few people getting ~6200w out of them on an 18v system.

Chad,
Yes...they judge will put you in the correct class. You will just have to show him the install and tell him the amps.

hey marshall, i'm 99% positive i'll be going over the window line with my box. but my box will be behind the door jam. does this make any difference in what class i would be in?

also, where can i find competitions in my area?

anything over the window line will stick you in pro.. i've known them to do 1/8th over and stick you to pro.. best bet is keep it under the window line..

In USACi...even if you are 1/8" over the window line you will be in Modified. You have to pass the 'string test' to compete in stock or prostock.

You can compete in Street-Beat if you are over the window line though. SB is 30sec average while playing music...not burps.

here is a quick list of classes:
http://www.soundoff.org/rules.htm

http://www.soundoff.org/showschedule.aspx

USACi shows.

Also, check out:
www.dbdrag.com

their rules are different...i dont compete dBDrag, so i'm not sure on classes. The class according to sub # and size and amp#.
