Depends on your budget.. Two BTLs would be your best bet given you have enough money to send them 2000rms .. this includes amp(s) and eletrical upgrades. The cheaper route would be just to get two Fi SSDs with a Hifonics BXi 2006D

The amp is rated for 2000rms x 1 @ 1 ohm so you would need two DVC 4 ohm subs and wire them parallel. The amp is over-rated so each sub should be at least seeing their RMS rating if not a little more.

SI Mags are great subs and get loud while sounding good... like I've said.. depends on how much your willing to spend for eletrical upgrades and amps..

What electical upgrades do you think i will need? Yes I might go with the 2 SSDs. Those will hit hard right? Ive never actually heard the subs, just heard people talkin about them

My bad.. you can get DVC 1-2ohm coils with the SSDs.. so get the Dual 1 ohm coils.. wire the subs in series for a 2ohm load each then wire them together parallel to the amp for a 1 ohm load.. either or get the dvc 2 ohm and find a amp that does around 1600rms at 2 ohm. Kicker will have you covered if you go that route.

If you run with just two SSDs the only eletrical upgrades needed would be the Big Three and I'd suggest using 1/0gauge wiring. With more power you'd be setting yourself up for a H/O alternator. That would be nice to have with just 1600rms but you can manage with the Big Three, 1/0 guage wiring, and a good healthy alt/batt.

www.the12volt.com --- woofer wiring

basically, series/paralel wireing is just diff ways to wire a sub so that it presents a certain impedience load on the amplifier. you need to take into account the VC's and ohm of the sub and what it can wire to...

the big 3 upgrade is a electrical upgrade. It changin out the wires from:

battery + to alt
Battery to ground
alt to ground

and you usually use around a 4 awg wires to do this or bigger depending on the current u will be runnin through them

oh ok, can I do that myself? Which do you think is better, running them at a 1 ohm load with a hifonics amp or a 2 ohm load with a kicker amp?

really doesnt matter. which every load that the amp can take in reference to the subs you get.. voice coils it has and the ohm of the sub. kicker amps are alot higher quality than a hifo amp

and yes, you could prolly do the big 3 urself :-)

ok so you think i should go with the kicker amp and the 2 ohm load? U think the Kicker ZX1500.1 will do the job at a 2 ohm load?

of course it will. if the amp is rated ay that load it will perform well at that load.

if you were getttin the zx1500 amp you need to make sure you get the Dual voice coil, 2 ohm subs

kicker kx 2500d is one of the most efficient amps on the market today... try it with 2 ssd's with the copper coil. YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED! (copper coils on these subs sound GREAT!)

thanks bassman3... but if u wanna feel power for short term try it out. it gets pretty intense. i abuse my stuff daily and have no problems but that is experience. the ssd's are a little underrated... more like 1000 rms in my opinion. it's all about the application and im an abusive basshead... i just try to HELP and yes somtimes i get out of hand, lmao! for example, i throw 2500 watts to a q and it takes it! but when u think about it, it's abuse to the sub, system, and ur ears. im surprised im not deaf yet, but i play with stuff any time i have uhhhh.....TIME. lol! the instant u smell somthing funny, in my case burnt adhesive on the voice coil, i turn it down and play a bass track below tuning to flop the subs around... they get the most cooling in that mode, then i rest it for 15-30 mins... then again i let er rip! have fun! DIYers rule!

im not crazy! i've put 1 12" ssd to 2400 watts and it holds up... give or take "5-10 mins will give u a smelly coil" so just turn it down it'll be fine.(dependant on application) just don't be a total nincompoop and fry it...(voids warranty) oh... never ever play below tuning at those power levels. :-) yii haaa! bass headz!
