It would never hurt to do it but you may or may not "need" to do it. What kind of car is it going into?

if your stock is 60a then you need a bigger one. try to get as big as you can for your car with such a small one on there now you probly wont be able to get much higher then a 180. just dont buy from exsessive amperage.

im in the same boat as you.

iv read soooooo many bad things about EA and a few about irragi.

knukoncepts.com is selling some i will probly get one from them. iv spoken with them and they have 15-20 units out right now and haveny had any problems with any yet. plus they have a 6month warentee

4alterstart.com marshall has a 180a from them and he said its held up fine. they will only make me a 150 for 300 though :-(

those 2 seem to be the cheapest/reliable.

dont take it personally hes not serious.

the reason i wouldnt go with EA is becasue he uses cheap equiptment, people have gotten new alts from him that dont work to begin with, some people have had to swap them out 3 and 4 times. other people have had problems with faulty voltage regualtors so either not enough voltage or to much and it will destroy the cars electronics. also he has no written warrentee so basically he doesnt have to cover what he doesnt want to. some people have had good luck with him but TONS havnt. search on any big fourm. if you really want to take the chance then get one from him im just warnging you. also iv heard he is VERY hard to contact when you have a problem and that is no way to run a business. like i said i havnt dealt with him nor will i ever. but there are many threads online about how he has screwed people.

I have a 300A Amputator series from Iraggi and have never had a problem. There prices are reasonable too, haven't heard too much bad about them and they can be found on e-bay. Polo..

those are just two that showed up on the fisrt page. out of 11 pages contaning excessive amperage.

although there are plenty of people who have had good luck with them. but im sure you are like me and dont have the money or the time to play games with an alt.

yanks the best way to find out if you need a new alt is to hook up your stuff and play it. watch your voltage and see how it does on music and test tones. rev your engine up to 2k rpms and see if you still get a voltage drop. if you do its HO alt time!

(suprised admin didnt catch that picture)
