hey is it true that the gain on the amp should be set with the preamp voltage of my head unit? If so ive been setting amps wrong for a while... please let me know. I have a pioneer DEH-p780mp with the 5 volt preamp outputs.
yep its true as can be. set it with a digital multimeter or set it by turning your volume to 3/4 of the way up and set the gain till you hear distortion and then nudge it back a bit. should do the trick
Hey Trevor, I have never done it with a DMM, so I have to measure the voltage on the RCA's, but what then? How do I set the gain, what do I measure on the amp?
