Hi, I am installing a r/s on my fiancé's 2004 Liberty but need to educate myself on the Chrysler factory ignition bypass. I am experienced w/ the Passlock II system on GM vehicles and have successfully installed a Clifford IG750 & IS4 into my 2000 cavalier so I hope that Chrysler will not be much different as far as difficulty. As of right now all I know is per the key color (black) is in not a transponder key. Will I need a bypass unit? Will I need a spare key or can I get a unit that does not require one? Any unit suggestions?
if that jeep has a blk key it does not have an transponder if it has a grey key it needs all keys to program and the bypass 555cw or the 556u in which you place a key in the box you also need relays and resistors for the door locks and the parking lights
