Port placment

does it make a difference if you place the circle port in the rear of the box and the subwoofer on the front or do u have to place the port on the top or side of the box.

i dont have enough room to put it on the front of my box and if i put it on the sides it would be like half an inch away from the walls of the trunk. if i put the port on the top id say its even less than half an inch to the top of the trunk. this is why i would like to know if putting it in the rear of the box would have any drawbacks to the subs performance.

usually best when on same side as woofer

but it appears like u so DID NOT plan ur box design/available space properly .......

it doesnt really matter, personal preferance mostly, itll sound different, not quieter

any more input cuz i wanna know to.... i plan on porting my box that i have 2 theres no room to put the port upfront at all so it will have to go on the side

I wouldn't do the side. Most places say 4" from the nearest solid object. If your box is against the seat I would say wherever but like rovin said, you should have planned.

i have room around my box because i moving it on my rear end "HUMP" look at any old car u will Know whut im talkin bout



anyway im building a false wall around it so if i have 4" of clearance it should b fine
