Ground wire?

can the ground wire be a different gage then the power?? and if anyone has any wiring tips let me know im about to do my first install..thankyou!

Im not sure about the gage part, but my tips are keep it under 36 inches and bolt it down really good where its not loose.

You can have it differnet size but if its going to be different I recomend you have the ground larger, right now I have 0 ground and 4 on the power and it works great for me.

it can be same size or larger BUT never smaller than ur power wire - & yes keep it less than 3ft long.....

really rovin cause i have 0 gauge power but have 4 gauge ground wire should i change that

my friend he had 8g wire an the ground wire burnt so we upgraded it to 4g stinger wire an the ground is gettin hott whats the proplem hes usin a boss 1600 that pounds 4 sum reason lol an its only takin out 50amps

well charlie i take it ur 0gauge is going into a distro block which then splits into (2) 4g wires , 1 / amp - if thats ur case then 4g ground wire is ok .

what i meant above is if u have like a 4g power wire going into ur amp then DO NOT use like a smaller 8g ground wire ..........

no i have 0 gauge power wire going straight into my amp no dist block then i just have the 4g ground coming off the amp

Hmmmm - u amp can accept 0G wire !? , thats different cause most amps can only take a 4G wire

Well if urs can then it should also take a 0G ground wire as well which u should put .......
