I've just installed a new Pioneer CD player in my '95 ESCORT. It powers up fine but I can't seem to get ANY sound out of the speakers. Does anybody have any suggestions? I'v tried connecting the speaker wires to a 9- volt battery but that didn't do anything. To test the CD player,I did hook up a small home stereo speaker to the Pioneer unit, and it worked!
Does your car have a factory amp? My '94 Explorer does, and if I don't plug the amp into the HU, then my door speakers don't output any sound. The only thing I can think of is that you didn't hook up the factory amp, if it has one.
