What kind of amp do i need?? (to push 2 type R's dvc 4 ohm each)?!?

i just bought 2 ALPINE SWR-1242D 12" DVC 4 Ohm 1500W subs off eBay and i have no clue what amp to push them with. i was going to buy a kx1200 but sum1 said that it wouldnt sound that great..i dont understand why though...im trying to get as much wrms as possible but still stay in my budget...my budget is about 350$ for my amp...wht do u prefer?? HELP PLZ!

don't know who told you that but i had kx1200.1 pushing my type r's and it hit. i'd buy that amp if it's in your budget, but if not buy a mono amp that's around 1100-1400wrms @ 1ohm. you want to at least give those subs 550wrms each, and definately go ported.

what was ur wrms for each sub when u had ur kx1200.1 ct??

the Kicker KX1200.1 is a very nice amp, whoever said it won't sound good, what did they compare it to??

Phoenix Gold Xenon is another nice amp to consider.
you could also look at the Orion 1200D.

i don't know if i'd buy that amp from that seller. they haven't sold a lot, mostly buys.

the new ZX1000.1 goes for around $370+S&H. not many KX1200.1's left online, mostly used ones from individuals.

agreed what those guys above said - kx1200 will bump those subs perfectly so too will the ed9 , PG , ER , orion amps - all gr8 choices

tune ur box around 33/34hz & ur good 2 go ...
