What kind of car? I'd say closer to 145. My friend had 2 of the older type R 12s in a sealed box with a 600rms amp in a 300zx and hit 144.

Can't guestimate a figure but they bump VERY hard in my wagon

Will rec u buy a 1200wrms amp & not a 1000wrms amp cause a pair handles 1200wrms easily .....

Brett,
trevor means "what meter did you hit 144 on?"...did you use the termlab? 144dB is not exactly a reasonable # to hit in the Termlab sensor w/ a sealed box.

smith2289,
i have a 98 ext cab 2wheel drv silverado. w/ 2 type-r's sealed under the back seat...i say you would hit 135-140 on the TL. (legal, on the dash)

it would be a good daily system.

Casey I have two 12's. in a sealed box that is 3.5 ft^3. I know it sounds like a huge box for a single cab truck but the new dodges have soo much room.

why put type r's in a sealed box that is dumb they are boomer subs not SQ they were designed for ported ud hit at least anoter 3 db more if u go with ported with type R maybe 6 db more. If u want a sealed encloser go with the type X alpine not type r type x is SQ sub and was desinged for sealed not type R

^^Probably because there's not a lot of room in an extended cab truck for 2 12"s in a ported box. Boomer subs????

And back to the whole term lab thing. Can you explain that a little better? I haven't been to many competitions so I'm not too familiar with it.

Okay nm I found it out myself. And no, it wasn't on a tl. It was at a db drag at our school a few years ago. The mic was in the front passenger seat of his car. The equipment was pretty high end because it was put on by a local audio shop, and they had all the equipment sent from rockford fosgate for another show in the city earlier that week.
